Matthew Knowles Pens Heart-Warming Letter To Destiny’s Child For 25th Anniversary

As the 25th anniversary of Destiny’s Child approaches, Matthew Knowles, the father and former manager of Beyoncé, Kelly Rowland, and Michelle Williams, took a moment to reflect on their journey together. In an open letter penned for Women’s History Month, Knowles expressed his admiration and gratitude for the trio’s remarkable achievements.

“It is hard to believe that it has been almost 25 years since we began this journey this June,” wrote the 72-year-old. “You were just young teenagers with a dream to be the best in the world and you accomplished your dream. I thank you for your trust that you gave me to help create and facilitate your amazing journey.”

Knowles praised the relentless pursuit of excellence and unwavering trust among Beyoncé, Kelly, and Michelle, attributing these qualities to their status as the “number one female group of all time.” He acknowledged their individual talents and collective impact, stating, “Your legacy will forever live on, continuing to inspire generations to come.”

Dispelling rumors of the group’s breakup, Knowles emphasized their strategic decision to retire on top. “Many have gotten it wrong that Destiny’s Child broke up,” he clarified. “No, you were smarter than that and you always knew that one day Destiny’s Child would retire on top!! Hopefully, one day you come out of retirement!!”

Knowles expressed his hope for a reunion, echoing sentiments he had previously shared, saying, “It’s a decision that the ladies would have to make and I would certainly, certainly support that decision as I still manage Destiny’s Child. I would love to see that, as well.”

The letter also highlighted Knowles’ appreciation for the broader journey, acknowledging the contributions of former members and collaborators. He recognized the evolution from Girls Tyme to Destiny’s Child, thanking all those who played a role along the way.

In addition to his tribute to Destiny’s Child, Knowles recently shared words of encouragement for his granddaughter, Blue Ivy, praising her determination and eagerness to learn.
