A congratulations are in order for Meghan Markle and Prince Harry as they welcome their baby boy into the world.
Headlines reported that the Duchess of Sussex was in labor early this morning. A few hours later, the royal couple announced the birth of their son with a blue Instagram post that reads, “It’s a BOY! Their ROYAL HIGHNESSES the DUKE and DUCHESS of SUSSEX are OVERJOYED to announce the BIRTH of their CHILD.”
The all-text image was captioned with a proper statement, which says, “We are pleased to announce that Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex welcomed their firstborn child in the early morning on May 6th, 2019. Their Royal Highnesses’ son weighs 7lbs. 3oz.”
It continues, “The Duchess and baby are both healthy and well, and the couple thank members of the public for their shared excitement and support during this very special time in their lives. More details will be shared in the forthcoming days.”
The royal couple is mum on their son’s name, but Harry says, “We’ve had a little time to think about it,” since the “baby’s a little bit overdue.”
As the new party of three prepares to introduce their family to the world in two days, Prince Harry says, “Mother and baby are doing incredibly well…It’s been the most amazing experience.”
