Melba Moore, three-time Grammy-nominated singer, actress, and Hall of Famer, is telling her story with a memoir, “This Is It – Marvelous…And Getting Better.”

The Harlem-born Newark raised star has been a global force for over fifty years. With several hit songs like “Falling” and “Love’s Comin’ At Ya” and after starring in Broadway musicals, she is ready to pass on her nuggets of success.

Coming to Amazon Books in November, “This Is It – Marvelous…And Getting Better,” takes readers on the highs and lows of her career. The entertainment veteran shares how she had to pivot mulitple times, especially in an industry that didn’t always know what to do with a massive voice from a petite being.

From Harlem to the Hollywood Walk of Fame, in the book, Melba moves from winning the esteemed Tony Award for “Purlie!” to continually transitioning to discover what’s next in her career. In the rollercoaster ride in life, she’s done it all and never backed down from a challenge.

Moore’s numerous career highlights include:

  • Landing the female lead as Fantine in the acclaimed Broadway musical, “Les Misérables”
  • Being the first Black woman to replace a white actress in a leading role in a Broadway production;
