Social media has been in a frenzy after H&M published a photo of a young Black model in their campaign with disheveled hair.
All of the other kids also had a similar look, nonetheless the young Queen was singled out seemingly because of the texture of her hair. Some critics blamed H&M for bypassing this hairstyle, while others see no problem with it.

H&M responded to social media users stating that they truly wanted the children that shoot for them to embody their age, and how they naturally look, especially after school! Keep in mind the other kids in the shoot also had disheveled hair.
Take a look:
We truly believe that all kids should be allowed to be kids. The school aged kids who model for us come to the photo studio in the afternoon after school and we aim for a natural look which reflects that.

So she’s clearly worked with H&M before and when the theme of the shoot isn’t “after school messy” or whatever they style her hair just fine
