Michael B. Jordan is looking back on his days on The Wire.
Entertainment Weekly reports the Academy Award winner has revealed the cast for Delphi, Prime Video’s upcoming Creed spinoff series.
Taking to Instagram, Jordan highlighted the exciting inclusion of André Holland (Moonlight) alongside his former The Wire castmates, Andre Royo and Wood Harris.
“These are men I have looked up to, learned from, and been inspired by for a long time,” Jordan wrote on Instagram. “Two of them I had the privilege of sharing a set with when I was just a kid trying to figure out who I was as an actor. Watching them work back then taught me things I still carry with me today.”
“This week marked the start of filming in Los Angeles, where the Delphi legacy began. I wanted to take a second to share the incredible actors that make up our series regulars,” he continued. “This one is special to me. Getting here took vision, trust, and a lot of people betting on the next evolution of Creed.”
Along with Harris, Royo, and Holland, Delphi also stars Niles Fitch (This Is Us), Sofia Black-D’Elia (Single Drunk Female), and Demián Bichir.
On The Wire, Jordan delivered a breakout performance in the first season of the HBO drama. Playing Wallace, a naive but intelligent 16-year-old street dealer trapped in Baltimore’s drug trade, Jordan served as the emotional lynchpin of the show’s debut season.
Previously, Jordan and Harris have reunited within the Creed franchise; Harris is reprising his role in Delphi as Little Duke, the trainer of Adonis (Jordan). The new series will find Little Duke training the next generation of boxers at the Delphi Academy.
In addition to Delphi, Jordan has shared his interest in returning for a fourth Creed film in the hugely successful Rocky series.
