Unreleased music from Michael Jackson had allegedly been found in a storage unit in California, however, fans may not get to listen to it.
According to reports, Nicole Fell published a piece for The Hollywood Reporter, where she quoted Gregg Musgrove revealing that the discovery of the unreleased music was in a storage unit in the San Fernando Valley area.
Musgrove, an ex-California Highway Patrol Officer, also said that the storage unit was previously used by artist and producer Bryan Loren. He went on to say that some of the songs on the tapes have either been leaked or rumored to exist, while other songs have never been heard before.
The THR report says that Jackson’s estate knows about the tapes but they are not claiming ownership over them. Whoever does own the tapes will not be able to release them due to legal reasons. The collection of the tapes allegedly contains recordings between 1989 and 1991.
Although fans won’t be getting any new music from the late King of Pop, they are still waiting for the release of Antoine Fuqua’s biopic titled, Michael. Jaafar Jackson, Michael’s nephew, will play the lead role, while Colman Domingo and Nia Long are set to play the patriarch and matriarch of the family, Joe and Katherine Jackson.
The film is set to be released next October and has been described as “the motion picture event that explores the journey of the man who became the King of Pop.”
