Michelle Obama Says She And Barack Planned To Visit The Reiners The Day They Were Killed

Michelle Obama revealed on The Jimmy Kimmel Show that she and Barack Obama were going to see the Reiners the day they were killed.

The former First Lady shared how long she’s known the Reiners on the late-nigh show.

“How long have you known the Reiners?” Kimmel asked Michelle.

“We’ve known them for many, many years. And we were supposed to be seeing them that night, last night,” Michelle replied. “We got the news… And let me just say this, unlike some people, Rob and Michele Reiner are some of the most decent, courageous people you ever want to know.

Michele contineud: “They’re not deranged or crazed. What they have always been are passionate people. In a time when there is not a lot of courage going on.”

Michele lauded them for their political activism and their love for their family and friends.

“They were the kind of people who were ready to put their actions behind what they cared about,” she continued. “And they cared about their family, and they cared about this country. They cared about fairness and equity. And that is the truth. I do know them.”

Nick Reiner, the Reiner’s son, was arrested and booked on murder charges in connection with the deaths of his parents. Rob and Michele died from stab wounds.

As WBLS reported, authorities responding to a medical aid call around 3:30 p.m. discovered their bodies.

“It is with profound sorrow that we announce the tragic passing of Michele and Rob Reiner. We are heartbroken by this sudden loss. And we ask for privacy during this unbelievably difficult time,” the Reiner family said.

Barack Obama paid tribute to the Reiners on X (formerly Twitter).

“Michelle and I are heartbroken by the tragic passing of Rob Reiner and his beloved wife, Michele,” he ewote
