Michelle Williams, Jennifer Hudson, Billy Porter Awe Crowd At Thanksgiving Day Parade

The 98th Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade returned on a rainy Thursday for the annual holiday event on the streets of New York City.

The 2024 event included 5,000 volunteers, 22 floats, and live music from a star-studded lineup of artists.

The lineup included Michelle Williams, Jennifer Hudson, and Billy Porter among others.

Michelle Williams, who is currently starring in Death Becomes Her on Broadway, took center stage to deliver a powerful performance. The singer and the cast hit the parade singing “If You Want Perfection.”

Billy Porter, a Pittsburgh native, was the opening act for the parade’s broadcast on NBC, which began at 8:30 a.m. in New York City. Porter opened the show with a lively rendition of “Ease on Down the Road” from the musical “The Wiz.”

Jennifer Hudson closed out the parade showcasing her powerhouse vocals for “Jingle Bells” and “Let There Be Joy,” off of her debut Christmas album “The Gift of Love.” The EGOT winner stole the show in a gorgeous red sequined gown that she apparently did not want to get wet. Her dancers took turns holding a large umbrella over her to keep her dry, which viewers loved to see.
