Destiny’s Child member Michelle Williams has been quite open about her battle with depression. And as of recently, it’s reported that Williams checked herself into a mental health facility just outside Los Angeles, Calif for treatment.
The Illinois-born singer, who’s reportedly been in the facility for “several days,” according to TMZ, released a statement on yesterday (July 17) regarding mental health awareness and her ongoing plight with depression.
“For years I have dedicated myself to increasing awareness of mental health and empowering people to recognize when it’s time to seek help, support and guidance from those that love and care for your wellbeing.”
She continued, “Today I proudly, happily and healthily stand here as someone who will continue to always lead by example as I tirelessly advocate for the betterment of those in need.”
