Miss Universe Jamaica 2025, Dr. Gabrielle Henry, has been released from the hospital months after a serious onstage fall, but she remains under close medical supervision as her recovery continues, pageant officials confirmed.

Organizers said Henry is now recuperating with the support of a medical team after being discharged following extended treatment. The update comes nearly four months after the incident at the Miss Universe competition in Thailand.

“She has not yet returned to active Miss Universe Jamaica duties, therefore, no interviews nor official appearances are currently on her itinerary,” organizers Mark McDermoth and Karl Williams said in a statement.

Henry suffered significant injuries during the Nov. 19 preliminary competition. She fell from the stage while walking in the evening gown segment. The fall prompted immediate medical attention and hospitalization.

Medical reports later confirmed she sustained a fracture and an intracranial hemorrhage. Those injuries required intensive care and long-term monitoring.

Long Recovery After Shocking Fall

The incident quickly drew international attention as videos circulated online. Audience members rushed to assist before medical teams transported her on a stretcher.

Henry was initially treated in Thailand before returning to Jamaica under medical escort. She continued treatment and rehabilitation upon her return home.

In the months following the accident, Henry shared limited updates about her condition. Social media posts showed her undergoing rehabilitation, including light physical activity.

Despite visible progress, officials emphasized that her recovery remains ongoing. She continues to receive structured care and observation from health professionals.

Organizers have not provided a timeline for her return to public life or official duties.

Pageant Community Offers Support

The Miss Universe Jamaica organization has maintained a cautious approach in sharing updates. Officials have asked for privacy while Henry focuses on healing.

Support has continued from fans, fellow contestants and the wider pageant community. Many have praised her resilience and gradual return to strength.

Henry, an ophthalmologist and advocate for vision care, had been considered a strong contender before the accident. Her sudden withdrawal from the competition marked a turning point in the event.

Organizers said their priority remains her full recovery. They added that future participation decisions will depend entirely on medical guidance.

For now, Henry remains out of the public eye. Her team says she is focusing on rest, rehabilitation and a steady return to health.

“She has not yet returned to active duties,” organizers reiterated, underscoring the careful pace of her recovery.
