Congratulations are in order!
Missy Elliott will be the first female hip-hop artist to receive an honorary Doctorate Degree from Berklee College of Music.
The honor will take place this upcoming spring. Justin Timberlake, and Alex Lacamoire will also receive an honor. According to the schools press release, students will be paying tribute to the honorees by performing music associated with their careers.
Missy recently made history by becoming the first female rapper to be inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame.
The commencement ceremony will take place on May 11.
