An MTA employee is no longer employed with the company.

According to reports, the unidentified employee was a Computer Support Analyst for MTA Headquarters, and he was fired for running a personal sneaker business while on company time and with the company’s vehicle.

The employee did not disclose that he had two other jobs outside of the company, which goes against MTA’s policies. During their investigation, MTA found a form from 2021 to 2024, which showed that the former analyst was working his second job during MTA hours. It also shows that he modified his schedule to accommodate his second.

Investigators also found that he used the MTA work computer to get access to his sneaker-related websites. He also used his work email for business outside of MTA. Aside from the former employee using company property for his business, investigators also found more than 300 pornographic websites after he linked his personal email account to the computer.

The former analyst’s supervisor was also reprimanded for failing to review the employee’s time and attendance.
