NBC has officially greenlit a new comedy series starring Tracy Morgan, marking a significant return for the comedian to the network. The show, tentatively titled The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins, is slated for the 2025-26 television season. Morgan will portray Reggie Dinkins, a former football star attempting to rebuild his tarnished reputation.
A Star-Studded Ensemble
Joining Morgan is Daniel Radcliffe, who will play Arthur Tobin, an award-winning filmmaker documenting Reggie’s journey. Radcliffe’s recent performances in Miracle Workers and Merrily We Roll Along have showcased his versatility, making him a compelling addition to the cast. Other notable cast members include Erika Alexander as Monica, Reggie’s ex-wife and agent; Bobby Moynihan as Gator, Reggie’s loyal former teammate; and Precious Way and Jalyn Hall in undisclosed roles.

The series reunites several key figures from the acclaimed show 30 Rock. Tina Fey, Robert Carlock, and Sam Means serve as executive producers, with Carlock and Means also handling writing duties. Rhys Thomas, known for his work on Saturday Night Live, directed the pilot episode. This collaboration marks the first time Morgan and Fey have worked together since 30 Rock concluded in 2013.
Morgan expressed his enthusiasm about reuniting with Fey, stating, “Tina Fey is my sister. When I was on Saturday Night Live and she came, she recognized my funny. Me and her was probably brother and sister in a last life. We just picking up in this life.”
