50 Cent has found a home for his forthcoming Diddy documentary.
According to USA Today, the four-part docuseries titled Sean Combs: The Reckoning will air on Netflix. The doc features “never-before-seen materials” and “exclusive interviews with those formerly in Combs’ orbit.’
Each episode will explore the “underworld” of Diddy’s dark secrets.
Netflix also confirmed that more exclusive interviews and materials will be released closer to the release date.
An official synopsis from Netflix teases: “This documentary will lay out the story of a powerful, enterprising man and the gilded empire he built – as well as the underworld that lay just beneath its surface.”
50 Cent shared his excitement about the doc’s release.
“I’ve been committed to real storytelling for years through G-Unit Film and Television,” 50 Cent said. “I’m grateful to everyone who came forward and trusted us with their stories. And proud to have Alexandria Stapleton as the director on the project to bring this important story to the screen.”
Alexandria Stapleton, director and executive producer, said she “was intrigued by the bravery of Comb’s ex-girlfriend, Casandra Fine Ventura.”
“I wondered how she had the confidence to go out there against a mogul like Sean Combs,” Stapleton said. “And I instantly knew it was a stress test of whether we’ve changed as a culture. As far as being able to process allegations like this in a fair way.”
“This isn’t just about the story of Sean Combs or the story of Cassie, or the story of any of the victims, or the allegations against him, or the trial. Ultimately, this story is a mirror [reflecting us] as the public, and what we are saying when we put our celebrities on such a high pedestal. I hope [this documentary] is a wake-up call for how we idolize people. And to understand that everybody is a human being,” Stapleton says.
Diddy Combs is currently serving a prison sentence of more than four years. He was found guilty earlier this year of two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution in relation to two of his ex-partners,
He is set to be released from federal prison on May 8, 2028, after serving 50 months in custody.
