Cardi B Makes History as First Solo Female Artist to Win a Grammy Award for Best Rap Album [VIDEO]

Some people thought Cardi B was done here. Not only did the 26-year-old rapper and new mother of daughter Kulture, turn heads at the 2019 Grammy Awards with a Mugler Couture gown from 1995, Cardi also performed a kick-ass performance with her latest single “Money”.

In addition, Cardi earned her first-ever Grammy for the category of “Best Rap Album” with her project, “Invasion of Privacy”. She later dedicated the win to the late Mac Miller whose album was also nominated.

The Bronx native is the first female to win best rap album as a solo artist since the birth of the category in 1996.

In 1997, Lauryn Hill is the first woman ever to win, but apart of the late hip-hop group, the Fugees. It’s granted to say this is only the beginning for Cardi, Okurrr!
