Nick Cannon, now father to 12 children, recently shared a definitive verdict on growing his brood. During his June 19 appearance on The Really Good Podcast, he made it succinct: “I think I’m done,” he said with a grin when asked if more kids were in his future (mensjournal.com). His four‑word reply cut through the curiosity: a seemingly final cap on a busy parenting journey.

A Shift From “Not Done” to Finality?

Just a few months ago, Cannon’s tone was different. In March, speaking to People magazine, he explained he was “pressing hold…on this 12 for right now” citing financial reasons and prompting from his grandmother. At the time, he left the door open for future children, stating, “I’m not against it… three years from now [or] five years from now, who knows? I’m not against it.” Yet now his language on the podcast suggests a more resolved stance.

Forgetting Names, Finding Limits

During the same June podcast, Cannon admitted he could only name ten of his twelve children in order. “I’m missing two,” he said candidly. The slip highlighted both the scale of his family and its complexities. He later clarified he hadn’t intentionally left names out—he just needed a moment. His openness about forgetting underscores the challenges of being the father of a dozen kids.

Looking Back and Looking Ahead

In the People interview, Cannon expressed how fatherhood has shaped him: “I learn compassion more than anything,” he shared. He also reflected: “I never take the standpoint of ‘Daddy knows best.’… We’re going to figure this out together and operate out of love and compassion.” Over time, that approach has grounded what might otherwise be a chaotic family life.

Financial Check and Faith’s Role

Cannon’s March comments also revealed practical considerations. He noted his family’s size and budget: “The way my bank account is set up, I’m going to press hold on this 12 for right now.” But on the spiritual side, he’s left planning up to fate. During the podcast, he added: “I don’t know what God or the universe have in store for me,” underscoring how faith continues to influence his decisions.
