Nicki Minaj throws shade at Jay‑Z and NFL icon Shannon Sharpe on her fiery verse in Lil Wayne’s latest remix, “Banned From NO.”

“If I send a pic of Shannon, you ain’t that Sharpe.”

The line allegedly references a past moment when Sharpe allegedly tweeted “Nicki who?”, a diss she clearly hasn’t forgotten.

Soon after his tweet, she jumped on X (formerly Twitter) to elaborate:
“Yeah n**** you thought I forgot that ‘Nicki who’ s*** you did? LMFAOOOO… j/k.”

She added a playful nod to Chad Ochocinco:

“Ochocinco almost caught a strizzy just by being around yo crazy tail self.”

Minaj’s jab reminds listeners she’s been keeping track and can retaliate with wit.

A Subtle Shot at Jay‑Z and the NFL

Nicki doesn’t stop there. She confronts the NFL’s decision-making in her verse:

“NFL, fire some n****s and then call us,” she says in the song.

Fans interpret this as an indirect critique of Jay‑Z, who was deeply involved in choosing the halftime show through the league’s entertainment arm. Lil Wayne, despite being a hometown legend in New Orleans, was passed over in favor of Kendrick Lamar.

This remix is the first time Nicki joins Lil Wayne on a track since her 2023 album Pink Friday 2. Fans quickly flooded X with praise, noting her verse brought the explosive Young Money energy back to the spotlight.

Nicki even posted on Instagram celebrating the reunion, captioning an old photo of the two as “the GOAT”
