Nicki Minaj recently unloaded on California Governor Gavin Newsom. Newsom shared a social media video criticizing Donald Trump that featured Megan Thee Stallion’s diss track, “HISS.” The track, already loaded with tension due to Megan and Nicki’s highly publicized feud, became the unexpected soundtrack for Newsom’s political message. Minaj took it personally.

Newsom’s clip used Megan’s now-infamous “Megan’s Law” lyric to highlight Trump’s alleged ties to Jeffrey Epstein. The video included old photos of Trump at Epstein’s parties, meant to damage Trump’s image. For Nicki, the bigger issue was not Trump, but the song choice.

The “Chun Li” rapper took to X for a number of fiery tweets.

“Career politician at the brink of his moment realigns to become nothing more than a Nicki Minaj ANTI,” she tweeted. “OOF. So now he’s the guy running on ‘wanting to see trans kids’ AND willing to lower himself to becoming just another FEMALE RAPPER to get obliterated by NICKI MINAJ. #FREEChristians #NewScum.” “Wanting to see more TRANSKIDS NEWSOME GRUESOME Haha Fire victims?……..Nah GAVIN WANTS ONE THING. TRANSKIDS NEWSOME this one made me laugh really loud LMFAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Gotta admit I’m funny.”

“Oh gavvy Pooh the ppl behind you clearly don’t care about you,” Minaj went on. “I can go a lot deeper. Arch your back. Today you get another chance. Tmrw no more. I’d switch gears. You & your entire team. Blessings.”

“HISS” was released 2024. It references Nicki’s husband, Kenneth Petty, who is a registered sex offender. Minaj accused Newsom of clout-chasing and turning himself into what she called a “Nicki Minaj ANTI.”
