Nicki Minaj has earned herself another number one song from her latest album Pink Friday 2.
Minaj’s song “Blessings” featuring gospel singer Tasha Cobbs Leonard debuted at number 1 on the Billboard Gospel Songs Chart, although the song wasn’t released as a single. This is not the first time that these two women have collaborated on a song together.
The rapper was featured on Cobbs Leonard’s song “I’m Getting Ready” six years ago that was on her album Heart. Passion. Pursuit. This song also landed at No.1 on the Hot Gospel Songs Chart.
Back in 2020, the award-winning gospel singer spoke about collaborating with Minaj in midst of receiving backlash for working with her.
“I’ve seen the Nicki that is off the stage and that Nicki has a great relationship with God,” she said. “My assignment with this song was for a particular audience. Some [of the listeners] have never experienced God ever, and she exposed that audience in her way, to the God that she loves.”
Earlier this year, Nicki Minaj was spotted at Tasha Cobbs Leonard concert during her tour stop in Los Angeles.
Congratulations to both women!
