This is sad. Olivia Newton-John sadly passed away at the age of 73 after a long battle with breast cancer.
Her husband, John Easterling, stated that the actress passed away peacefully in her Southern California home on Monday morning.
TMZ reports, that she had battled breast cancer for more than 30 years. A close source to Newton-John said, “After a 30-year cancer journey, she lost her battle to metastatic breast cancer.”
Olivia Newton-John was best known for her role in the 1978 cult classic, “Grease” as Sandy where she sang songs such as “Hopelessly Devoted to You,” “Summer Nights”, and “You’re the One that I Want,” alongside John Travolta.
In 1981, she scored her big hit with “Physical” which remained at the #1 spot for 10 weeks and eventually breaking records in the 1980s.
The singer was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1992 but it went into remission. It came back in 2013 and went into remission again before resurfacing in 2017.
