Oprah Winfrey is getting prepared to executive produce a new documentary about Poitier.
The documentary will explore his upbringing and his cultural rise to stardom that led him to become the first African American man to win an Academy Award for Best Actor.
As told by Variety, Reggie Hudlin will direct the film that will be produced through HARPO Productions, Network Entertainment, and Apple Original Films.
The film has reportedly been in production for a year and will receive the support of the acting legend’s family.
Sidney Poitier passed away on January 7th at the age of 94. He left behind his wife and six daughters.
