Oprah Winfrey was reportedly hospitalized according to her best friend Gayle King.
After missing an appearance on CBS to promote a new book, King explained that Winfrey caught a stomach bug that hospitalized her. “She had some kind of stomach thing- stomach flu– stuff was coming out of both ends. I won’t get too graphic. Needless to say, she ended up in the hospital, dehydration had to get an IV, it was a very serious thing.”
King also said that Oprah is currently recovering and hoped that she doesn’t get in trouble for putting her business on blast. The book that Oprah was supposed to promote was David Wroblewski’s “Familiaris.” The author was present at the time of King’s news about her best friend, however he seemed unphased by it.
Before missing her appearance, Winfrey had promoted the book on her book club’s Instagram page.
