Pastor John Gray stopped by talk show The Real to address cheating rumors and allegedly getting another woman pregnant.
He along with his wife, Aventar Gray, opened up about their eight-year marriage and cleared up all the rumors that have been circulating around for some time now. Earlier this year, the senior pastor delivered a sermon alluding to cheating, saying, “We had to keep smiling because even though we were struggling. Even though I was failing as a husband, I was already in front of the people and the people can’t really receive my brokeness because where do leaders go when they bleed?” he said to the congregation during the sermon.
“I started listening to the wrong voices and let some people get too close. She found out and she set it off, just like a good wife should.”
When he was asked about the cheating rumors, he admits to having an emotional affair. However, he did not sleep with anyone.
Over a year ago, my wife and I were in a very difficult place in our marriage, and in that time, I began to converse with someone – other than a counselor, other than a pastoral leader, which is where I should have taken my issues and challenges – and began to converse, and I was even in the presence of that person one time.
But being in the presence of someone is not the same as sleeping with them. I did not sleep with anyone.”
