Patti LaBelle could be releasing some new music with Cardi B very soon.
It has been reported that The Godmother of Soul is open to recording new music with the Bronx native for her upcoming album. I’m still talking. I can still hear. I can see. I can walk. So, what a blessing. I’m still standing,” she said at her surprise birthday party. “Age is a number. I’m 80 and still good.”
When the topic of new music came about she said, “I haven’t had an album out in 20 years. So I’m working on that now. It should be out at the end of this year and it’s called 8065.” She added, “I’m 80 years young, and 65 years in show business.”
LaBelle talked about working with Cardi and said, “Why not? She’s like one of my new best friends, and to know that she was into Patti LaBelle… She’s like my new buddy.”
If and when this collaboration happens, it wouldn’t be the first time that the two women worked on something together. Last year, the two mega-stars collaborated to promote their respective food brands, LaBelle’s Good Life Pies, and Cardi’s Whip Shots Vodka.
They combined the pumpkin flavor shot with a sweet potato pie in a now-viral social media clip. The “Bodak Yellow” rapper shared her excitement on her Instagram page. See below.
