Paula Patton is living her best life as a single woman.
In an interview with PEOPLE, Pattion confirmed that she enjoys her single life.
“I’m not telling you that,” Patton joked. “I’m going to be honest, I am a single woman.:
“God has your king for you, and you just have to go about your life enjoying every moment,” she shared. “Don’t wait on anything or anybody. Just trust and know that when the right person comes, it will be.”
Patton also shared that she thinks that most people make decisions to be in relationships based on the fear of being alone.
“I think we get caught up in fear, or worried about being alone, and then you make choices that are not great choices, instead of just like, trusting, it’s all gonna work out, and then you don’t have to chase anything,” Patton said.
Along with being single, Patton is starring in Finding Faith on Lifetime, where she plays a woman whose life is shattered by tragedy, leading her to spiral out of control, and she loses her trust in God. She expressed how she prepared to take on the challenging role.
“It was scary…When I was doing it, though, what was kind of incredible was that I was able to forgive myself for the first time genuinely,” Patton explained.
“Because even as I’d been through this healing journey, I’d still be like, ‘God, how did you do that? Why didn’t you do this? You should have done it like that,” she continued. “And somehow playing Faith and going through it, I realized I did the best I could at that time. I didn’t have the tools. I didn’t know, and I don’t know, I just was able to forgive myself.”
Finding Faith premieres on Saturday, August 9th at 8/7c only on Lifetime.
