Pharrell is gearing up for his third studio album and fans are excited about a specific BTS collaboration on the project.
In an interview for Rolling Stone’s Musicians On Musicians, the 48 year old sat down with RM, leader of BTS, for a conversation about the upcoming project. He revealed the name of the album and his excitement for what he has created.
“Well, my project, it’s called… it’s [under] my name, and the title of the album is ‘Phfriends.’ It’s the volume one,” Pharrell says. “You guys [BTS] are on there, obviously. And I’m actually talking about this way more than I’m supposed to, but it’s a song from my album that [BTS] sang and it’s amazing, and I’m super grateful.”
RM also confirmed in the conversation that he is 90% done with his album after recently announcing his solo debut. Pharrell offered some help to the K-pop artist. “But if within that last 10 percent, if you need – you don’t need me, but I mean…” he mentions. “If you want to do something, we can actually do it.” RM responded, “Please… I’m honoured and grateful.”
Although there is no confirmation on when the album will release, Phriends isn’t a new concept. The producer previously brought out acts like Q-Tip, Clipse, SZA, Justin Timberlake, and more for his Pharrell And Phriends set at the 2022 Something In The Water Festival.
