Pleasure P, former member of Pretty Ricky, has reignited his claim of co-writing Lil Wayne’s 2008 smash hit “Lollipop.” In a recent Instagram Live session, the R&B singer demanded recognition and compensation for his alleged contributions to the iconic track from Tha Carter III.

“I wrote that,” he declared passionately as “Lollipop” played in the background. “Rex Zamor, Tez, Wayne, Mack Maine—I need my f**king plaque for this song, bro.” Pleasure P also called out Jim Jonsin, the song’s producer, adding, “Y’all can do something about this sh*t, but nobody cares about me no more.”

According to Pleasure P, his former manager, Rex Zamor, holds the publishing rights and has failed to acknowledge his involvement. “Rex got my publishing, and he got his name on this record, bro. I can’t get my just due,” he said. Pleasure P claims he co-wrote the song alongside the late Static Major before the release of his debut album.

The singer also reflected on the personal toll of the situation, sharing that he’s now 40 and simply wants what he’s owed. “My son just got out of jail. I ain’t got time for this sh*t no more, bro. Just give me what I deserve,” he stated. Despite the frustration, he emphasized that he isn’t seeking conflict. “I ain’t kill nobody. I ain’t crash out. I just want what’s right.”

Pleasure P’s claims about “Lollipop” aren’t new. In 2023, he made similar assertions during an appearance on The Baller Alert Show, mentioning specific elements of the song he contributed. While Jim Jonsin has previously acknowledged Pleasure P’s involvement in the track’s early stages, he stopped short of crediting him as a writer.

The song, which won a Grammy for Best Rap Song in 2009 and has been certified 5× Platinum, remains one of Lil Wayne’s most celebrated hits. Pleasure P added, “I’m a part of [Wayne’s] biggest record, 1.3 million the first week. And I haven’t been able to celebrate that.”
