In a recent court hearing, Porsha Williams revealed she took on financial responsibilities for her estranged husband Simon Guobadia while he was held by ICE.

“Yes, I paid his child support for his two sons. I also paid maintenance for the house.,” she said.

Williams said she felt it was her duty despite their split.

“I really got concerned, being that Simon was still detained,” she explained. “I’m still married to him at the end of the day.”

She explained that one of Simon’s former partners had reached out in anguish, prompting Williams to step in.

“The mother had reached out to my assistant and said she was concerned… When I had spoke to her, so I paid it,” she said.

Detainer’s Perspective: Simon Speaks Out

Meanwhile, Simon Guobadia, now deported to Nigeria, broke his silence about his four‑month stay at the Stewart Detention Center in Georgia.

“There was no coffee, no purified water, and no real meat,” he said, describing the facility.

He also expressed suspicion that his arrest may have been orchestrated.

“It’s possible” Williams or someone in her circle tipped off ICE, he told US Weekly.

Despite the troubling experience, Simon remains defiant, revealing he was placed in solitary confinement for safety reasons but still held close company until deportation.

Final Divorce Rulings and Financial Fallout

The couple’s final divorce hearing was delayed due to Simon’s detention. His deportation back to Nigeria, confirmed earlier this month, finally concluded that phase.

During the proceedings, Simon’s lawyer disclosed he had once given Williams $30,000 monthly during their courtship. The divorce settlement is expected to enforce their prenuptial agreement, possibly awarding alimony and home‑ownership decisions to Williams as Simon attends hearings via Zoom.
