Queen Latifah is set to be the latest recipient of the prestigious Marian Anderson Award. She is the youngest person to receive this accolade.
The Marian Anderson Award is given in Philadelphia to “critically acclaimed artists who have impacted society in a positive way.” Latifah now joins the likes of Dionne Warwick Patti LaBelle as people who have received this honor.
Queen Latifah is no stranger to receiving prestegious honors, as she was nominated in the past for an Oscar for her role as Matron “Mama” Morton in 2002’s “Chicago,” and Grammy for her song “U.N.I.T.Y.” Kenney says she’s “an excellent role model and clearly well-deserving of this prestigious honor.”
The award will be presented on November 20.
