Quinta Brunson is already fighting rumors in 2026.
Taking to her Instagram Stories, the Abbott Elementary creator and actress, 36, shared a mirror selfie during New Year’s Eve. Because of the position of the pic, many thought that Brunson was pregnant.
Brunson responded to pregnancy rumors with some jokes.
”Not preggers,” she wrote. “Sweater in an odd position. Not 2026 already getting my ass.”
According to the post, Brunson spent New Year’s Eve with her friends following her divorce from Kevin Jay Anik in March 2025.
The amicable agreement follows Brunson’s filing for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences. The divorce will become official after a judge signs off on their settlement.
Per court documents, the pair had a postnuptial agreement governing their property disposition and agreed to an uncontested divorce.
In a previous interview with Bustle, Brunson spoke about dealing with a divorce in the public eye.
“I remember seeing people be like, ‘She announced her divorce,’” Bronson recalled. “I didn’t announce anything.”
“I think people have this idea that people in the public eye want the public to know their every move. “None of us do. I promise you,” she continued. “No one wants [everyone] to know when you buy a house. Or when you move, when a major change happens in your personal life. It’s just that that’s public record information.”
Brunson also spoke about guarding her privacy.
“I love my fans, I love the people who watch Abbott, ”Quinta expressed. “But when it comes to matters of your personal life, you do have to tune it out.”
“Those are invisible voices that aren’t in your home with you,” she added. “That aren’t in your personal life, that aren’t your friends.”
Brunson had been focusing on herself since her divorce.
“It’s a transitional time,” she acknowledged. “I think it’s true for me and my personal life, and it’s how I feel about myself, my career, and the world. I feel very serious about focusing on watering my own gardens, taking care of myself, and the people around me, who I actually interact with day-to-day.”
