Reggae legend, Toots Hibbert has passed away at the age of 77.
Born Frederick Nathaniel Hibbert, he was the frontman of the group Toots and The Maytals. The band released a statement announcing Hibbert’s passing.
“It is with the heaviest of hearts to announce that Fredrick Nathaniel “Toots” Hibbert passed away peacefully tonight, surrounded by his family at the University Hospital of the West Indies in Kingston, Jamaica.” See the entire statement below.

Hibbert’s death has not been confirmed as of yet, but it has been reported that on September 3rd, he was taken to the ICU and was currently waiting for the results of the coronavirus test. Hibbert is survived by his wife and seven children.
