R Kelly and his legal team are doing whatever it takes to prevent Lifetime from airing ‘Surviving R Kelly’, which premieres tonight. The singer’s lawyer Brian Nix “warned” Lifetime that federal legal action will be taken if they go through with showing the documentary. They also claim that it’s “packed with lies,” reported on TMZ.
The three-part series features interviews with women who claim R Kelly sexually, mentally and or physically abused them. R Kelly’s former girlfriend Kitti Jones and his ex-wife Andrea Kelly will tell their story about the RnB singer’s alleged abuse.
Over 50 interviews were conducted with family, friends, and survivors of the alleged attacks. The #MeToo movement founder Tarana Burke, singers John Legend and Sparkle, talk-show host Wendy Williams, and radio legend Tom Joyner are also featured in the series.
