The National Basketball Association has announced their star-studded lineup of musical performances celebrating the Bay Area’s rich musical culture as part of NBA All-Star 2025.
Renowned maestro, DJ Cassidy, will lead a special Bay Area edition of his “Pass The Mic Live!” starring E-40, Too $hort and Saweetie and multi-platinum vocal group En Vogue during the 2025 NBA All-Star Game, which will be played on Sunday, Feb. 16.
Prior to tip-off, Oakland, Calif., native and three-time GRAMMY® Award-winning singer, songwriter and record producer Raphael Saadiq will deliver a special performance to introduce the 2025 NBA All-Stars.
In an interview with the San Fransico Chronicle, Saadiq shared what to expect on his set list. “We have a list of music that came from the Bay Area — from Steve Miller Band to MC Hammer to Too Short to my music to Tower of Power. There’s also Metallica. I made sure we had Hiero/Souls of Mischief “93 ’til Infinity” in there.”
On Saturday (Feb 15), H.E.R. presented the State Farm® All-Star Saturday Night alongside four-time NBA champion Andre Iguodala. Five-time GRAMMY Award-winning musician and Morehouse alumnus PJ Morton performed the U.S. national anthem. Oakland native and singer-songwriter Goapele performed the Black national anthem, “Lift Every Voice and Sing.”
After raising millions via the star-studded FireAid benefit concert as well as this year’s GRAMMYs, the NBA All-Star weekend – held in San Francisco – will feature a tribute to the Los Angeles area by assembling some of music’s biggest stars from the area to act as the musical entertainment.
