Erica Banks, cast member of the hit reality TV show “Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta,” was arrested in Georgia on drug charges, per Atlanta News First.

According to a source for Brookhaven Police Department, the rapper formerly known as Erica Breaux, was a passenger in a vehicle that was pulled over Monday in Brookhaven, GA, after a police officer noticed a tinted tag covering the license plate.

In Georgia, it is against the law for a license plate to be covered with any material unless the material is colorless and transparent.

Police found that Breaux was in possession of MDMA, also known as ecstasy, and marijuana with the intent to distribute. Both are felony charges.

The driver, Amani Dirton, 25, was arrested on similar drug charges, a traffic misdemeanor for a tint violation on the license plate, and for driving a stolen car.

According to police, the car had a dealer plate and the VIN showed it had been stolen out of Atlanta.

Both Dirton and Breaux were taken into custody and have since been released.

This is the second time this year Breaux has been arrested in metro Atlanta.

In August, she was reportedly detained at an Atlanta airport while attempting to board a flight to Houston after allegedly being found with a firearm. Police said the firearm had been reported stolen out of South Carolina. She was charged with theft by receiving stolen property in that case. Breaux was briefly held in the Clayton County Jail and released shortly after.

At the time, her lawyer, Jackie Patterson, released a statement which said, “It is our contention that when she was caught with this weapon, she had no idea it was stolen. So she is not guilty of any offense. And once we get to court on this case my job is to make sure this never becomes a part of her criminal history and to have these charges dismissed.”

Dallas, Texas native Erica Banks made waves with her chart-topping hit “Buss It” in 2021. The hit earned her millions of streams and firmly established her as a rising star in the hip-hop scene. She appeared on Season 11 of “Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta”.
