Ray J and Mario’s vocal feud has taken a turn. The “One Wish” singer took to his Instagram story on Friday to reveal an alleged direct message from Mario. This message led to his claim that the “Crying Out For Me” singer put a spell on him.

How It Started

Last month the two traded verbal shots during interviews. Mario sparked the exchange by naming singers he felt couldn’t sing, which the “Sexy Can I” singer took offense to.

“Ray J doesn’t want any smoke with me on any level,” said the “Just a Friend” singer during his appearance on The Breakfast Club. “He only got one wish. He got a couple records, but they’re not timeless.”

Ray J responded by challenging Mario to a vocal square-off during his appearance on 92Q Jams.

“Mario don’t wanna see me in a one for one singing battle,” said the 44 year-old singer. “The next five R&B songs Mario got coming compared to Ray J’s five coming right now.”

He added that “it’s all love” despite the friendly competition. Mario added that Ray J encouraged an on-site VERZUZ battle backstage at Brandy and Monica’s “The Boy Is Mine” tour.
