Last weekend CultureCon took over Atlanta, Georgia with its star-studded conference.
Many who are familiar with the conference, know that it is always filled with and celebrates everything, Black and it usually happens over the course of one weekend.
CultureCon, which is usually held in New York, was held in Atlanta, Georgia for the first time. From May 2nd to 7th, the conference was full of events from their partners including Twitter, HBO Max, Footlocker, Pinterest, LinkedIn, and more.
On the day of the actual conference, there were multiple panels held throughout the course of the day. The event was hosted by actress Kat Graham and stylist Olori Swank. It also featured stars such as actor Jay Ellis, singer and reality tv star Kandi Burruss, and politician Stacey Abrams.
The guests were also able to experience the small black-owned business block, a happy hour with Grey Goose, plenty of photo opportunities, and so much more.
This takeover would not be possible without Imani Ellis. In 2016, Ellis founded The Creative Collective NYC while sitting in her one-bedroom apartment in Harlem with 10 of her friends who shared the same vision as her.
Since then, CultureCon has taken off and it had major stars along for the ride, including Spike Lee, Sanaa Lathan, Regina King, KeKe Palmer, Tracee Ellis Ross, and more.
CultureCon will be making its second stop in Los Angeles in June and then they will come to New York in October. We honestly can’t wait for it but until then watch the video below for all that went down at CultureCon.
