Emerging superstar Iris Stryx and Reggae and Dancehall legend Sizzla announce a huge collaboration on the way after Stryx secured the No.1 spot on the YouTube charts.
The latest achievement adds momentum to Stryx’s growing profile across the Caribbean music landscape. Sizzla’s legacy continues to influence today’s biggest stars in music as he supports new artists like Iris Stryx. The pairing connects Stryx’s Bahamian perspective with one of Jamaica’s most recognizable voices.
Stryx describes the upcoming record as a deeply personal exploration of growth and resilience.
“It’s a very personal and introspective record about confronting the parts of yourself you once tried to hide, surviving difficult experiences and realising that growth never really ends; we are always becoming,” she explained.
Stryx also sees Sizzla’s contribution as an important part of the song’s identity. She says his spiritual depth and cultural conviction bring another dimension to the collaboration.
“I don’t want the music to feel confined to one genre or one island,” Stryx said. “I want it to feel Caribbean at its core while still being able to travel anywhere in the world.”

That vision reflects the Nassau native’s musical upbringing. Stryx grew up surrounded by the Bahamas’ Goombay and Junkanoo traditions.
She also absorbed soca, Jamaican reggae and dancehall, American hip-hop and West African Afrobeats. Those influences inform an approach that moves freely across Caribbean sounds.
For Stryx, reggae carries a deeper purpose beyond its rhythms.
“Although dancehall is often present in the rhythm and energy of my music, reggae contributes something deeper,” she said. “Its consciousness, spirituality, honesty and willingness to speak about real life.”
That philosophy shapes her forthcoming collaboration with Sizzla.
“That influence becomes especially important on a record like the one I’m creating with Sizzla,” Stryx added.
With “No Regrets” topping YouTube’s charts, Stryx is building a bridge between Bahamian culture, Jamaican music and a global audience.
