Rep. Jasmine Crockett took aim at Rep.Marjorie Taylor Greene after the former Donald Trump ally resigned from Congress.
Speaking with CNN‘s Jake Tapper, Crockett said that Greene couldn’t take the “heat” now that she’s not in Trump’s good graces.
“You know what? Honestly, I was like, ‘You’ve got to be kidding me,” Crockett explained.
“You’re on the other side of the president for one week, and you can’t take the heat? Imagine what it is to sit in my shoes. To not only be on the opposite side of him, but to have people like her who are constantly fanning the flames of hate.
Crockett contineud: “And imagine what those threats look like when you literally are someone like me.”
Crockett also shared that her primary focus is on Texas’s 30th congressional district.
“But at the end of the day, I know that I serve the people of Texas 30,” Crockett said. “So my job isn’t to be there and necessarily do whatever is going to make the president not be on my back. But instead is to focus on making sure that I can push forward with policies that are positive for Texas 30.”
Greene announced her resignation in a lengthy video statement on X, effective Jan. 5, 2026. The resignation took place a week after Trump announced that he would withdraw his endorsement of Greene.
Crockett responded to Greene’s resignation on X.
“I’m going to be honest. I didn’t see this coming. But the threats that come with being on the opposite side of Trump ARE REAL,” Crockett wrote.
“People need to wake up! Trump only knows how to use people up & then cast them aside when he’s done. He did it to his VP, he’s done it to those that wanted the Epstein files. And he did it to those that believed he cared about their struggles. Now he’s doing it to one of his most loyal followers, MTG,” Crockett continued.
