News broke that actor and comedian John Witherspoon passed away at the age of 77, on Tuesday, October 29th. His family released a statement, “It is with deep sadness we have to tweet this, but our husband & father John Witherspoon has passed away. He was a Legend in the entertainment industry and a father figure to all who watched him over the years.”
It was Initially unclear as to what caused the passing, but according to reports it has been revealed. Reportedly, the beloved actor passed away from a heart attack. Documents claims he was battling coronary artery disease and had hypertension.
John Witherspoon is survived by his wife, Angela, and sons JD and Alexander and many fans around the world.
