Rondell Sheridan, beloved for his role as Victor Baxter on Disney Channel’s That’s So Raven, is facing a serious health challenge. The 66-year-old actor and comedian has been hospitalized with severe pancreatitis and is now seeking public support through a GoFundMe campaign to manage his mounting medical expenses.

Rondell Sheridan Health Crisis and Recovery

Sheridan first fell ill on April 10 while traveling. Initially misdiagnosed with a gastric issue, he was later admitted to North Ridge Hospital upon returning home, where he was diagnosed with pancreatitis. This condition, characterized by inflammation of the pancreas, can lead to severe abdominal pain, fever, and vomiting. Sheridan spent nine days in the hospital and continues to experience complications.

In a video posted to Instagram, Sheridan shared his experience.

“On April 10th, I was on the road and got sick. Went to the hospital and they thought it was gastric. I got home on the 12th and immediately went to the hospital at North Ridge and was told it’s pancreatitis,” he said. “Tons of tests. I was in the hospital for nine days. I got released and thought I was on the road to recovery but… my pancreas is inflamed and there’s not much you can do about it but just wait.”

Turning to the Community for Support

Due to his condition, Sheridan has been unable to work and has turned to the public for assistance. He launched a GoFundMe campaign to help cover his medical bills and living expenses during his recovery. The campaign has already raised over $25,000.

“I didn’t realize I was going to be, and will be, out of work for quite some time,” he continued. “I’m setting up this GoFundMe to help with some of my medical bills and just expenses. If you have anything that you could donate, I’d gladly appreciate it. Thank you so much.”

Sheridan’s career spans several decades, with notable appearances in The Jamie Foxx Show, Kenan & Kel, and A Different World. Before his illness, he had been touring as a comedian, with his last show held in March.
