Russell Simmons and Kimora Lee Simmons are heading to court.
Simmons is suing his ex-wife and her husband Tim Leissner for reportedly taking his shares out of the energy drink company, Celsius. He claims that the shares are being used as collateral for Leissner’s bail.
In 2018, Leissner pleaded guilty to criminal conspiracy to violate the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and conspiracy to commit money laundering.
According to TheJasmineBrand, Russell has argued that Kimora, “knew full well that Leissner would need tens of millions of dollars [$44 million] to avoid jail time, stay out on bail, and forfeit monies for victim compensation.”
Russell also claims that Kimora and Leissner “conspired with each other, aided and abetted each other and together engaged in fraud by causing an unlawful conversion and fraudulent transfer.”
Russell Simmons is currently requesting damages and restitution for interest and equal value of the shares he believes were stolen.
