Russell Wilson has a new gig.
According to ESPN, the Super Bowl champion is officially coming to terms on a deal to join CBS Sports.
Wislons will replace Matt Ryan with CBS following the former Atlanta quarterback leaving the network to return to his team in an executive role.
In May, Wilson told the New York Post that he was weighing a contract offer from the New York Jets while also having an opportunity to become an NFL analyst.”
”It was great,” Wilson explained.”They offered me, and I’m trying to figure out what the next best thing is for me to do. I still know I can play ball at a high level, but I also have an opportunity to do TV [analysis], so we’ll see what happens.”
WILSON’S REMARKABLE CAREER
In his remarkable career, Wilson was regarded as an elite dual-threat playmaker and his durability. Drafted by the Seattle Seahawks in the third round of the 2012 NFL Draft, he tied Peyton Manning’s rookie passing touchdown record (26). He led the franchise to its first-ever Lombardi Trophy with a dominant victory in Super Bowl XLVIII.
A nine-time Pro Bowler, Wilson became one of the winningest quarterbacks in NFL history over his first decade in the league. Known for his signature deep ball accuracy and dynamic ability to extend plays outside the pocket. Beyond his on-field passing and rushing milestones, which include leading the NFL in passing touchdowns in 2017 and passer rating in 2015. His legacy extended off the field as the winner of the prestigious Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year award in 2020 for his extensive philanthropic work.
Married to his wife Ciara, the couple shares three kids together. Their children are Sienna Princess, 9, son Win Harrison, 5, and daughter Amora Princess, 2. He and the singer also share son Future Zahir, 11, whom Ciara welcomed in her previous relationship with Future.
