Sean Kingston has asked a federal judge for special permission to be able to perform at Summerfest 2025 in Milwaukee before he is sentenced.

His request comes after he was convicted on multiple federal charges in a fraud case involving $1 million. The “Beautiful Girls” singer’s legal team submitted a “formal motion asking the court to allow him to travel for a high-profile festival appearance,” according to reports. Kingston has been on home detention since April after he was convicted on six federal counts, including wire fraud.

Zeljka Bozanic, the singer’s attorney, also talked about the difficulty that his client has been facing trying to earn a living under the current restrictions. “Mr. Anderson has not been able to produce income since being placed on home detention, since most of his job offers include appearing at concerts outside of our district.”  He went on to say that Kingston’s financial situation has also become strained because of not being able to travel for performances.

Sean Kingston and his mother, Janice Turner, were found guilty of participating in a fraud operation targeting high-end retailers. Their scheme involved the mother/son falsifying wire transfer confirmations and forging paperwork to obtain luxury items, including cars, electronics, and jewelry.

Sean Kingston is facing up to 20 years for each count, and his sentencing is scheduled for August 15, 2025.
