Sherri Shepherd has spoken out after her daytime talk show was cancelled.
During Monday’s episode of “Sherri,” she said how she was not ready for the end to come so soon.
”Sherri” will continue production on its fourth season with the last episodes set to air this fall.
“I want to be clear: I’m not ready to throw in the towel on this show just yet. I’m not,”Shepherd said.
“We’re gonna be airing episodes all through the fall. And we’re going to continue to fight to keep this show alive in some way, shape, or form,” she continued. “If anybody knows me, they know I’m a fighter. I don’t know exactly what it’s going to look like, but I promise, I am going to continue to spread joy.”
She then expressed her gratitude for “the outpouring of love.”
From the audience, to everybody on social media, to people who stop me in the store and still talk to me despite me not having a wig on, they still talk to me,” Shepherd said. “From the emails, the texts, the messages, I feel every bit of the love that you’ve been sending to me. And thank you so much.”
As WBLS previously reported, “Sherri” was officially cancelled after four seasons on the air.
Ira Bernstein and Mort Marcus, Debmar-Mercury co-presidents, released a joint statement about the cancellation.
“This decision is driven by the evolving daytime television landscape, their statement read.” It does not reflect on the strength of the show. Its production, which has found strong creative momentum this season, or the incredibly talented Sherri Shepherd. We believe in this show and in Sherri and intend to explore alternatives for it on other platforms.”
Launched in the fall of 2022, “Sherri” originally took over the time slots on the Fox stations that “The Wendy Williams Show” occupied.
