Jhené Aiko is facing some legal trouble. The singer has been hit with a lawsuit over a car accident that took place in 2022.
According to reports, the accident took place on the corner of Hayvenhurt Avenue and Ventura Boulevard that left one person injured. The court document says, “[Ligot] was stopped at a traffic light when [Aiko] struck [her] from behind. Due to the negligent actions of [Aiko] while operating the motor vehicle, [Ligot] was injured in health, strength, and activity.”
The suit was filed by the victim, Genelle Ligot and she is suing the singer for damages and wants to have a jury trial. Ligot also claims that Aiko was negligent and caused her injuries. Due to her injuries, Ligot claims that she suffered loss wages, the loss of earning capacity, had to pay her medical expenses and more things due to the accident.
This lawsuit comes after Aiko and her boyfriend, rapper Big Sean, recently filed a restraining order against their alleged stalker in August 2023. The “Bed Peace” singer said that she feared for her life after the stalker, Ian Craig Lees, appeared at multiple events that she was at. Lees also had trespassed on her Pacific Palisades residence that she shares with Big Sean.
