Singer-Songwriter Joyce Sims Passes Away at 63

Over the weekend it was announced that R&B singer/songwriter Joyce Sims has died at age 63. 

According to reports, she rose to fame in the late 1980s with her single “Come Into My Life” which landed in the top 10 on the US and UK charts. Before her death, Sims was on tour in England and she was set to release a new album this year. 

Family members of Sims confirmed her death on social media. Annette Ramsey, one of Sims’ sisters wrote “My heart is broken. I will always remember the happy times we’ve shared, the love and support you have given me will not go in vain. I Love you Big Sis RIP.” 

Another sister of the singer, Debbie Sims also wrote that Joyce was “a beautiful soul inside and out who will truly be missed.”  CJ Carlos, an event organizer also took to Facebook to write, “Having spoken to her immediate family tonight, it’s with a heavy heart that I post this news Joyce Sims has passed away. Joyce was an amazing singer-songwriter who had so many hits in the 80s.”

He continued, “As most of you know she was going to be one of our USA artists’s in Portugal next May. My heart goes out to her partner Errol and their children and close family.”
