Snoop Dogg has signed a multi-year partnership with NBCUniversal, marking a significant expansion of his entertainment ventures. The deal includes his production company, Death Row Pictures, and encompasses a biopic about his life, as well as other film and television projects.

“I waited a long time to put this project together because I wanted to choose the right director, the perfect writer, and the greatest movie company I could partner with that could understand the legacy that I’m trying to portray on screen, and the memory I’m trying to leave behind,” Snoop said in a statement. “It was the perfect marriage. It was holy matrimony, not holy macaroni.”

A Full-Circle Moment for Snoop Dogg

The biopic will be the first project under Death Row Pictures, a company Snoop established after acquiring the Death Row Records brand in 2022. The film will be directed by Allen Hughes, known for “Menace II Society” and “The Book of Eli,” with a script by Joe Robert Cole, co-writer of “Black Panther.” Snoop will produce alongside Hughes and Sara Ramaker.

“It feels good to have ownership of the label I was part of at the beginning of my career and as one of the founding members,” Snoop said regarding his acquisition of Death Row Records. “This is an extremely meaningful moment for me.”

Beyond Music

In addition to the biopic, Snoop’s deal with NBCUniversal includes his return as a coach on Season 28 of NBC’s “The Voice,” set to air in fall 2025. He previously served as a coach in Season 26. This renewed relationship with NBCUniversal underscores Snoop’s expanding role in entertainment beyond music.

Snoop Dogg’s partnership with NBCUniversal and the launch of Death Row Pictures signify a new chapter in his career, blending his musical legacy with his growing influence in film and television.
