Snoop Dogg is set to release his highly anticipated biopic.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the legendary rapper will bring his life’s story to the big screen in 2027.
“After my brothers got to tell their story with Straight Outta Compton, now it’s my turn,” Snoop said about the studio’s N.W.A movie. “My director, Craig Brewer, just showed us how hard it is out here for a pimp from Hustle & Flow. And then last year, he got us all singing ‘Sweet Caroline.’”
“If we’re gonna do a Snoop Dogg movie, I gotta get gangster with it,” he continued. “My movie is going to be rated R, I guarantee that. So get your parents’ permission.”
Snoop also shared that his trailer is next to one of the industry’s most acclaimed directors.
“I got a trailer on the lot right next to [Steven] Spielberg. There goes the mother-fucking neighborhood,” said Snoop.”They called the fire department on me two times already, but it wasn’t fire. Smoke, baby.”
Snoop then brought out Donna Langley, CEO of Universal films, saying, “All hail the queen.”
Previously, Universal released Oscar-nominated Straight Outta Compton, which grossed more than $200 million at the global box office. LaKeith Stanfield starred as Snoop.
On the biopic, Snoop Dogg, Brian Grazer, and Death Row Pictures president Sara Ramaker are executive producers. This film will be the Death Row Pictures’ overall deal with NBCUniversal Entertainment & Studios.
Along with an update of the film, Snoop thrilled the audience with a live performance.
He performed“Drop It Like It’s Hot” and “Gin and Juice.” He also introduced Jonathan Daviss, star of Outer Banks, who will play him in the biopic.
Snoop has crafted one of the most resilient legacies in entertainment as one of the most famous people in the world. He’s sold 35 million albums worldwide, released 19 studio albums, and received 17 Grammy nominations,
