Snoop Dogg’s New Year’s Eve special, which was slated to air on NBC/Peacock, has been canceled.
According to Deadline, NBCUniversal first announced that the special was slated to air live from Miami on December 31 at 10:30 pm ET/PT. It would be “a night packed with unforgettable music, iconic performances and surprise artist collaborations.”
Snoop released a statement saying that he will be preparing for the Winter Olympics.
“Sometimes the calendar gets in the way of the celebration, which is why my NBC family and I decided this winter was time for us all to focus on the Olympics,” Snoop Dogg said in a statement to Deadline. “But don’t worry, we’ll party together bigger and better later in 2026. Ya dig.”
Snoop was lauded for the Paris 2024 Summer Olympics for his hilarious reactions. NBCUniversal has officially announced its return for the Milan Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics in Italy. His unique “Snoop’s Greatest Hits” segments with host Mike Tirico was loved by a global audience. Snoop’s breakout success earned him the moniker “Ambassador of Happiness.”
Snoop is set to reprise his role for the 2026 Winter Olympics, which will air on Feb. 6 on NBC and Peacock. The games will last for 17 days.
“I am excited to be back with my main man, Mike Tirico for the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan-Cortina. “The D O double G will be on the scene, and I am looking forward to celebrating with the athletes and their families,” Snoop said. “It’s the biggest stage in the world. Everyone knows, I’m all about sports, bringing people together, and unifying while bringing the fun. I’ll be bringing my puffy jackets, snow pants, goggles, skates (and will definitely be iced out).”
