It’s clear to say that there is no love lost between Steve Harvey and Katt Williams.
While at his annual Golf Classic event, the 67-year-old radio host addressed Williams and the interview he did with Shannon Sharpe back in January. Harvey said about Williams, “I want to say Katt Williams ain’t s**t.”
He continued while laughing, “I can’t say it on the radio because I don’t use my platform to bring anybody down, but when I’m live I’ll destroy your a**.” Harvey’s comments come after Williams accused him of stealing other comedian’s material.
During the time of Williams’ comment, the Family Feud host decided not to directly address him after the interview aired, but he did comment not believing people who lie.
While on Club Shay Shay with Shannon Sharpe, Williams said that the concept of “The Steve Harvey Show” was stolen from comedian Mark Curry’s show, “Hangin’ with Mr. Cooper.” In his show, Harvey played a professional musician turned high school music teacher and principal. While Curry played a former NBA player turned high school substitute gym teacher and coach, on “Hangin’ with Mr. Cooper.”
“The same Steve that went to go watch Mark Curry do his whole sitcom and then stole everything Mark Curry had…Now Steve got a sitcom where he’s the principal and he wears a suit,” Williams said to Sharpe. He continued, “You couldn’t be a movie star…There are 30,000 new scripts in Hollywood every year. Not one of them asked for a country bumpkin Black dude that can’t talk good … and looks like Mr. Potato Head. There ain’t none. You have to have range.”
Katt Williams has also been in the crosshairs of his colleagues, such as Kevin Hart, Dave Chapelle, Cedric The Entertainer, and Rickey Smiley, who didn’t like what he said.
Katt Williams has not responded to Harvey’s comments yet.
